3 Months Of Hard Work: Photoshoot

Part 2: Glamour Swimsuit Shoot

In the second part of my shoot with Rhett Morita, we tried to capture glamour and fun, while highlighting all my hard work over the past three months, in preparation for Miss Universe Canada.

Thank you to Master Delfs for teaching me the discipline and perseverance I needed for this; Fight2befit for designing and helping me execute this training program; Beauty Bar Laser Clinic and Exhale Spa & Salon for the final touches of my skin and hair; and finally, to Rhett for masterfully capturing my three months of hard work.

Here’s Part 2 of the photoshoot!

Beauty Bar Gives The Freedom To Move

Last week, I visited my friends at Beauty Bar Laser Clinic (at 675 Yonge St), and had the opportunity to give the Accent XL a shot.

I have always had very tight shoulders/outer pectorals, caused predominantly by years of pushups in TaeKwon-Do.  I am proud of my strong upper body, but could do without the pain and tightness.

When my friend Ashraf recommended the Accent XL, I was curious to learn more.  It happens that the Accent XL is a form of thermotherapy.  It heats up the skin tissues (right into the dermis), which increases blood flow to the area, providing nutrients, oxygen, and even stimulating the collagen tissues.

What this meant for me, was from that single treatment, I felt reduced pain, relief of muscle spasm/tightness, and just more range of motion of my arms from a more flexible joint.  As I am in the midst of training for Miss Universe Canada, this now allows me to train with even more freedom.

There are other uses for the Accent XL, such as esthetics, contouring, and even fibromyalgia pain treatment, but each person is advised to do their own homework before proceeding with any treatment. What I can assure you is that Beauty Bar Laser Clinic is excellent at what they do, and I would highly recommend them.  This particular service is only available at 675 Yonge St.

Thank you Beauty Bar Laser Clinic!

Countdown to Miss Universe Canada: Week 10

Today was my first day of the beginning—the beginning of some body pampering (to offset my ongoing, intensive fitness training) as I prepare for the Miss Universe Canada pageant in May.  I need to go looking my best, that’s why I enlisted the help of my expert friends at Beauty Bar Laser Clinic.

Upon arriving at Beauty Bar Laser Clinic in Toronto, I had a pleasant registration process  with their friendly staff, and then I was off to give my face a rejuvenating treatment with a HydraFacialTM followed by WaveLight Teeth Whitening.

Now, I’m assuming most people know what teeth whitening is, but for those (and myself included prior to trying it out) that don’t really know what a HydraFacial is, here’s a little description below.

A HydraFacialTM is a pain-free, skin resurfacing treatment for all skin types.  It cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, all while hydrating with high-quality serums, infused with peptides, antioxidants, and hyaluronic acid.

The process is similar to a microdermabrasion treatment, however, instead of blasting crystals on the face to exfoliate, it uses a spiral tip that is applied in stroking movements over the skin. The tip simultaneously applies the skin serums, and then vacuums it off, along with dead skin and debris—making the treatment less harsh and more efficient.

What does this mean? Fine lines, pore size and hyperpigmentation is decreased, and you are left with a much healthier, youthful complexion.

So what other kinds of serums does Beauty Bar have for my skin?

Beauty Bar Laser Clinic is one of the exclusive providers of the #1 Vitamin C Serums in the worlds: VivierSkin.

Vivier  Pharma produces the highest concentration of medical grade Vitamin C, and Vitamin C is known for being a powerful antioxidant (that destroys radicals that age the skin) and also key component in the production of collagen in the skin. Your skin will love you for it!

Combating Bullying with Heroism

School Heroes Unite is a Pro-Heroism program.
Bullying is winnable battle and the solution lies with where we choose to focus our energy.

Mother Teresa when asked to participate in anti-war demonstrations said “I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I’ll be there”. I believe we need to focus on what we want, not what we don’t want.

School Heroes Unite does just that, with the focus on being a hero rather than being an anti-bullying program.

School Heroes Unite celebrates diversity, fosters empathy, promotes teamwork and unleashes the inner hero.

Share the video below to promote heroism and combat bullying, so that this program can touch more lives.

With Gratitude,

Denise 🙂
